Louisa Fitzhardinge [lu'i:zə fɪts'ha:diŋ] is an award-nominated actor, comedian, and grammar nerd.
She records voice overs daily from her home studio, with over 12 years of happy clients including the Victorian Government (yes, she got to do one of those very fast ‘authorised by…’ tags), Commonwealth Bank, LG, Disney, IGA and many more.
Spontaneous and punny, Louisa is in high demand as an MC. She hosted Lost the Plot, a literature game show, at the Melbourne Emerging Writers' Festival, and The Maj Fringe Gala at Perth FRINGE WORLD. She has also won Sci Fight (a monthly science comedy debate) and Capital Punishment (a Canberra-based pun slam), and appears regularly with much-loved improvised comedy troupes The Big Hoo-Haa!, Impromptunes, Spontaneous Broadway and Murder Village: An Improvised Whodunnit.
Her critically acclaimed musical comedy, Comma Sutra, has enjoyed sold out runs at Melbourne Cabaret Festival, Hobart's Festival of Voices and Perth Fringe World and was nominated for Best Cabaret at the latter. She has now performed it over 100 times over the span of ten years, including a month-long stint at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She is the creator and MC of The Australian O-Pun, an improvised punning competition that has enjoyed sold out shows across Melbourne and Perth. Most recently, Louisa and her husband (renowned DJ and comedian Andrew McClelland) collaborated on a new musical comedy entitled The Von Donk Family Old-Timey Vaudeville Revue, which was a smash hit at Melbourne International Comedy Festival and will soon be making its way around the Australian festival circuit.
On the more scripted side of things, Louisa played comedic heroine Rosalind in the Australian Shakespeare Company’s production of As You Like It, Hero/Dogsberry in Much Ado About Nothing (Bar’d Work), Emilia in The Man of Mode (RL Productions), Mary O'Malley in Caribbean Pirates on the Polly Woodside (Australian Shakespeare Company), Mayor Matilda in Showdown at Two Bob Billabong (National Theatre for Children), Emily in Burn For You (Soup Kitchen Theatre) and Gilmer in Godspell (Room 8/Australian Shakespeare Company), which toured to the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Arts Centre.
In her spare time - when not working her ‘day jobs’ entertaining children in hospital as a Captain Starlight or presenting comedic Maths shows in schools with Felstead Education - she collects languages. Semi-fluent in German, she has studied Auslan, French, Italian and Spanish and is now tackling Danish.
